This rare and special cognac opens the gates of a refined and elegant universe reserved for hedonists and revealing the rich successive pleasures that only a great cognac can procure. It is called Paradis.
Hennessy Paradis Cognac is a premium blend of very old “eaux de vie” created by Hennessy Master Blender Maurice Fillioux in 1979. Hennessy Cognac has a very long history leading back to its foundation by Irishman Richard Hennessy in the town of Cognac in 1765. Hennessy has always been a company with an international outlook and soon established bases in Ireland and, more importantly, London. London was the stepping stone to many other international markets such as Australia, USA (particularly New York from 1794 onwards) and also Asian markets, launching in Japan in 1868. They are now one of the widely distributed brands ever.
Hennessy went into partnership with Champagne Moet et Chandon in 1971 and, in 1987, went to form LVMH or Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy, home of some of the world’s top luxury and prestige brands. Hennessy Paradis is one of the cornerstones of the range and is currently overseen by Yann Fillioux, the seventh generation of his family to be Master Blender at Hennessy. As well as having access to some of the world’s best stocks of rare and very old eaux-de-vie, it is also his job to ensure that Hennessy cellars are continually replenished with enough young eaux-de-vie to to quietly age away for future generations.
Hennessy Paradis is the result of a blend of more than one hundred exceptional eaux-de-vie varying in age between 25 and 130 years old. An iconic, unique, elegant and refined Cognac.
Tasting Notes: Hennessy’s Notes – Hennessy Paradis reveals its delicate and velvety character, hinting at the silky texture that will follow. Then floral notes of jasmine and honeysuckle burst forth, underlined by a layer of soft red berry intensity. Paradoxically, suggestions of spicy notes rise then vanish, leaving richness on the palate. These aromas endlessly stretch and renew themselves, leading to a harmonious depth in the mouth. Honey, floral notes, truffle and mild spices fill the palate in an explosion of flavours. Very soft hints of cardamom and cinnamon, as well as candied fruit give way to fragrant notes recalling dried roses or sweet briar rose jam. Paradis plays with these fragrant paradoxes, offering an endless consistency to the palate. Gently revealing itself by little touches, Paradis endlessly appears as fresh as a new day. Its subtle texture allows it to gracefully blossom with a deep and fragrant persistence.
